Mark Van Mourick
Founder and CEO
Mark is the Chief Executive Officer of Optivest Wealth Management, and manages the investment portfolios of several of the nation’s wealthiest families. Mark established Optivest. in 1987 and has grown the firm’s managed portfolios to about 40 wealthy families through building strategic, diversified portfolios for his clients targeting low volatility and consistent growth.
Mark has over 35 years of experience as a Money Manager and Registered Investment Advisor. Prior to opening his own firm, he was one of the leading retail stock brokers of Smith Barney/Orange County. Mark leads Optivest by example, defining common corporate goals that build integrity, excellent customer satisfaction and an environment of high moral consciousness and generosity.
In addition to his expertise in stocks and finance, Mark has extensive experience in business and real estate. He is the author of “Cash Out, Cash In – The After Success Investment Guide”, and is also an experienced investor in a wide variety of investment vehicles including stocks, real estate and venture capital. He is a graduate of the Institute of Preparing Heirs ® specializing in successful wealth transfer to heirs of affluent families.
Mark holds various FINRA licenses including FINRA Series 7, Series 63 and Series 24, is a graduate of the University of Southern California with dual Bachelor of Arts Degrees in International Finance and Business Management. He serves on the executive boards of numerous companies, is an active speaker and the founder of the Orange County Exit Planning Roundtable.
In addition to his business achievements, Mark is founder and President of The Optivest Foundation which donates hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to Christian Ministries. Optivest Wealth Management., Optivest Investment Banking, Optivest Properties and Optivest Retirement Strategies donate 10% of gross annual revenue to charities around the world.
Chief Investment Officer
Leslie is the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Optivest Wealth Management. Leslie is responsible for implementing investment strategies and investment performance monitoring.
Working closely with Mark Van Mourick, Leslie employs 25 years of investment experience in managing investment portfolios for Optivest clients to achieve the high level of personalized attention the firm strives to attain.
Prior to joining Optivest, Leslie worked as an Institutional Sales Trader and Market Maker for several Broker/Dealers and has knowledge of both capital markets and of insider and restricted shares, IPO’s. Leslie holds various NASD licenses including NASD Series 7, Series 24, Series 63 and Series 65. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Louisville. Leslie was recognized as a Wall Street Journal Woman of Note in 2015.
Letitia Berbaum, AIF
Letitia Berbaum is dedicated to providing quality investment and strategic planning solutions to her clientele. Passionate about helping clients navigate the intricacies of investing, she specializes in wealth management, wealth transfer strategies, and strategic planning for business owners who desire an exit plan. Often referred to as the “voice of reason,” Letitia enjoys educating clients on the tools and resources that can be implemented to work toward a rewarding outcome and long-term benefits. She finds great purpose and fulfillment in her chosen career; being able to empower others with essential insight for making educated decisions that directly impact her clients’ futures and helping work towards their goals is priceless.
Prior to joining the seasoned team at Optivest Wealth Management, Letitia served as a Financial Advisor at LPL Financial and Wells Fargo. During her tenure in her previous roles, she developed a multi-faceted skillset that adds value and strength to her role today within Optivest.
A graduate from California State University, Fullerton with a B.S. in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance, she is also an active member of local and philanthropic communities. Letitia currently serves on the Council of the Orange County United Way Emerging Leaders and is a member of the Orange County United Way Women’s Leadership Council in addition to supporting causes such as cancer research, children’s education and local poverty. Letitia has earned her AIF designation and holds both Series 7 and 66 securities registrations, as well as Long Term Care Insurance, Life & Health, and Insurance licenses. A proud mother of two, in her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids while exploring new places via travel.
Director of Client Services
Shannon serves as the Director of Client Services at Optivest. It is her pleasure to offer clients personalized lifestyle services complete with full-time Concierge amenities. With a background in fine art, wine consulting and hospitality, Shannon is eager to partner with clients for an array of specialty needs. Learn more about our Concierge services here.
Previously, Shannon spent three years marketing for the arts industry, after spending time in London at Sotheby’s Auction House for Art & Business. Modern and Contemporary art are some of her many passions, along with travel and spending time with her family. Shannon has a Bachelor of Arts from Westmont College in Santa Barbara with additional study in Florence, Italy and London, England. Extensive travel throughout Europe and Australia has given Shannon a global perspective along with an affinity for living life creatively.

Glori is the Client Manager of Optivest Wealth Management. Glori works with Bart Zandbergen and responsibilities include client service, meeting/event coordinator, compliance and bookkeeping. Glori has 16 years of investment experience in operations, trading, compliance and marketing.
Prior to joining Optivest, Glori worked at Financial Management Network as Bart Zandbergen’s Client Manager. She worked at RNC Capital Management as a Marketing Associate. She worked at Chamberlain Group as their Director of Investment Operations and at Hollencrest Securities as their Operations Manager. Glori holds FINRA licenses including FINRA Series 7 and Series 63. She went to USC and Cal State Fullerton and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.
Lisa is the Administrative Assistant for Optivest Wealth Management and also works for Optivest Investment Banking as the Executive Assistant. She brings nearly 20 years of administrative experience to the Optivest team. Prior to joining Optivest, Lisa most recently worked in the commercial real estate industry in leasing and property management.
Lisa has a passion to help others in her personal and professional life which makes her role as Optivest’s assistant rewarding and enjoyable. She is Optivest’s friendly voice over the telephone and assists on a diverse level of client projects.
Originally from Washington, Lisa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Seattle Pacific University.
Director of Operations and IT
Ashlee is our go-to person for all client transactions, and works diligently to keep client reporting up-to-date. She is always accessible to clients for questions, big or small. Ashlee has single-handedly re-built the operations department since her start with Optivest in 2007 and is also our in-house technical support team. Clients are encouraged to call in with questions regarding accessing Optivest’s secure web portal, as Ashlee is also in charge of maintaining all client documents and financial transactions. Not only that, but she takes pride in accuracy and efficiency, so clients can rest assured that even their most complex matters are in good hands.
Ashlee has obtained the FINRA Series 99 license and is trained on Schwab Portfolio Center and Tamarac data management systems.
Besides her work, Ashlee receives great joy from spending time with her children and loving husband.
Client Service Associate
Carolyn serves as the Client Service Associate at Optivest. She works closely with Glori to provide operational and administrative assistance directly for Bart’s accounts. Carolyn works enthusiastically and diligently to insure our client experience is as straightforward and accurate as possible. Along with client services, Carolyn also handles Bart’s group medical insurance process and serves as the liaison between clients and medical carriers. Having earned a Bachelor degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at California State University of Fullerton, Carolyn is adeptly suited for this role.
Prior to joining Optivest, Carolyn worked as a New Accounts manager at Centaurus Financial, an independent broker dealer firm. There, she was able to manage a team of 4 in assisting financial advisors in operational and compliance due diligence. She also possesses knowledge of bookkeeping at GBS and Associates where she would assist small business owners in all of financial management—personal and business.
Born and raised in California, Carolyn enjoys traveling to exotic countries to explore the many cultures and eateries these places offer.
